FLYLEAF Postpones Tour Dates
April 11, 2007FLYLEAF has postponed five dates on its current headlining tour in order to allow singer Lacey Mosley to rest her vocal cords. She has issued the following statement on the matter:
"I'm so sorry, everyone. We have been working very hard to get to see all of you and play in all of your towns. We have gotten so many beautiful letters and gotten to talk to so many of you these past three years of touring and as far as I can remember we have only had to postpone one other show. I guess what we have learned is that we are not robots and we can't treat ourselves like it. My voice has been acting up this whole tour. When I went to the doctor she looked at my vocal chords and immediately started to reprimand me for the damage I had done. 'Didn't you know your voice was not well?' 'Yes, that's why I came here.' Appalled, she said, 'And still you continued to sing??' 'It's my job,' I said. And very matter of factly she stated, 'Not for long if you continue this way.' So I was ordered to be silent for five days. I'm sorry about all the shows being postponed, but we will come back and hopefully all of you will too. Thank you for your prayers, patience and understanding."
The affected dates are as follows:
April 11 - Columbus
April 13 - Detroit
April 14 - Cincinnati
April 15 - Chicago
April 17 - Madison
FLYLEAF will take part in this summer's Family Values Tour. Also scheduled to appear on the trek are EVANESCENCE, ATREYU, TRIVIUM and HELLYEAH, alongside headliners KORN.
The Texas-based band has been supporting its self-titled debut album, which has sold 571,000 copies in the United States since coming out in the fall of 2005, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
